Connect Facebook and Facebook Ads
Link your Facebook Page to YourLio with Facebook login to automate Messenger and Page comments, then switch on auto-replies for comments on your Facebook ads.
Overview
Connecting your Facebook Page lets YourLio answer Messenger chats and reply to comments on your Page posts. Connecting Facebook Ads lets it reply to comments on your ads too, and follow up in Messenger.
Both are set up through one Facebook login. If you include your ad account in that login, Facebook Ads connects at the same time.
In YourLio, your Facebook Page appears as the Messenger integration.
Before you start
You'll need:
- A Facebook Page you manage
- The Page in a Meta business portfolio you have admin access to
- For Facebook Ads: an ad account in the same business portfolio
Open the Messenger integration
- In YourLio, go to Settings → Integrations in the left sidebar.
- Open the Social tab.
- Click Connect next to Messenger.

On the Connect your Facebook Page screen, click Connect with Facebook.

Log in with Facebook
A Facebook window opens. Log in with the Facebook profile that manages your business portfolio. The window shows the app name as Helio AI. That's YourLio, so it's safe to continue.
Pick your business portfolio
Under Business portfolio, choose the portfolio that owns your Facebook Page.

Select your Page
Open the Page dropdown and tick the Facebook Page you want YourLio to manage.

Select your ad account
Open the Ad account dropdown and tick the ad account that runs your Facebook ads. This connects Facebook Ads at the same time.
The ad account is optional. Leave it empty if you only want Messenger and Page comments. You'll need to reconnect later to add ads.
Click Next.

Review and confirm
Meta lists what YourLio will get access to and what it can do, such as managing Page conversations in Messenger and managing comments on your Page. Check the business, ad account, and Facebook Page, then click Confirm.

Wait for Connecting your account to finish. When you see "… has been connected to Helio AI", click Finish. Skip Add payment method; YourLio doesn't need it.

Choose the Page in YourLio
You're sent back to YourLio, which opens Choose a Facebook Page. Select your Page and click Connect.

When it's done you'll see Facebook Page connected. The Messenger page shows your Page, a Connected badge, and Facebook is active.

Check Connection health. Account linked, Receiving comments, and Receiving messages should all have green ticks. If one doesn't, click Refresh status.
Back on Integrations → Social, Messenger now shows Connected. So does Facebook Ads, if you selected an ad account.

Turn on automations
Connecting doesn't switch anything on. Each automation card on the Overview tab starts as Off. Click Configure on a card, or open the Config tab:
| Automation | What it does |
|---|---|
| Comment to DM | Replies under comments on your Page posts, then follows up in Messenger |
| AI Chat | Answers Messenger chats with AI and greets new customers with a menu |
| Comment tags | Labels each comment, then decides whether Comment to DM handles it or it gets deleted |
Set up Comment to DM
- Open the Config tab and select Comment to DM. Turn on its toggle.
- Under When to DM a commenter, choose All comments, Keywords (only comments that match your keywords), or Off.
- Under Public reply, choose No public reply, AI-generated, or Fixed message. This reply is posted under the comment, so everyone can see it.
- Under The DM, choose what to send privately in Messenger: product cards, a fixed message, or a message with buttons.
- Check the Live preview on the right.
- Click Save defaults. You'll see Comment to DM settings saved.

These are Page-wide defaults. They apply to existing and new Page posts.
Manage individual posts
Click Open Facebook Library on the Overview tab, or go to Content Library → Facebook Library. Each post has an Auto DM toggle, and you can give a post its own settings instead of the defaults.

Test it
- From a different Facebook profile, comment on one of your Page posts.
- YourLio posts the public reply under the comment.
- The commenter gets the DM in Messenger.

The comment and the replies also show up in the YourLio Inbox, where your team can take over.

Connect Facebook Ads
Facebook Ads replies to comments on your Facebook ads and follows up in Messenger. It uses the same Facebook Page connection.
If you selected an ad account during the Facebook login, Facebook Ads is already connected. Skip to Set up ad replies.
Otherwise:
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Social.
- Click Connect next to Facebook Ads.
- On the Connect Facebook Ads screen, click Connect with Facebook.
- Repeat the Facebook login steps. This time, make sure you select an Ad account.
Set up ad replies
Open Facebook Ads from the Social tab. The header shows Connected and the Page and ad account in use.
- Turn on the Automation switch in the top right.
- Set the default rules for ad comments: which comments to reply to, the public reply, and the Messenger DM. The preview on the right updates as you edit.
- Choose whether to Enable new ads automatically. New ads then start replying with these defaults.
- Choose whether to Skip reaction-only comments, such as "🔥" or "nice".
- Click Save ad defaults.
To give one ad its own rules, click Manage individual ads in the Library. It opens the Ads tab of your Facebook Library.
Comments on ads follow the Facebook Ads settings, not the Page's Comment to DM defaults.
Troubleshooting
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Your Page is missing from the Meta dropdown | It's in a different business portfolio, or your profile isn't an admin on it. |
| Facebook Ads still shows Not connected | No ad account was selected. Connect Facebook Ads and pick an ad account. |
| Connection error on the Messenger page | Facebook access expired or a permission was removed. Click Reconnect with Facebook and approve every permission. |
| A Connection health item isn't green | Click Refresh status. If it stays red, click Reconnect account and approve every permission. |
| Public replies don't post | YourLio wasn't allowed to manage comments. Reconnect and allow it. |
